EEAC operates twenty-one Internet mailing lists, each operating as a public discussion support group with a different focus and audience. The combined subscription list of these groups is over 5,000 individuals. Most of these are prospective adopters and/or adoptive parents, but our public lists also welcome subscriptions and participation from extended family members, adoption professionals, medical professionals, therapists and other interested parties.
The areas covered include the joys of parenting, explaining the adoption process, meeting governmental regulations and requirements, the negative effects of institutional care on children, the prevalent medical, emotional, and behavioral issues of children living in orphanages, potential developmental and learning disabilities, the challenges of older child, sibling and special needs adoptions, successful schooling, fostering an adopted child's self-esteem, maintaining a child's culture and heritage, and promoting exceptional and compassionate parenting skills.
